National Broadcasting Plan for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) E-LEARNING

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), have become an important developmental factor, which will bring improvements in the economic field and promote social development.

Thanks to the initiative the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, S. E. OBIANG NGUEMA MBASOGO, Head of State of Equatorial Guinea and founder  of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, the National Plan is launched with the aim of the dissemination of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), through the creation of multimedia centers in the provincial capitals, with the possibility to extend to district and municipal level in the country.

The National Plan, located in the context defined in the National Plan for Economic and Social Development, has multiple objectives: to train people in the use of new technologies and in fields such as health, literacy or social civic education, and to positively raise awareness of online training.

Multimedia centers offer the public access to computer and Internet tools, as well as office automation initiation and training in different thematic areas of development. The centers also provide a favorable environment for information and training through New Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), essentially Internet.

This project is intended to bridge the digital divide that currently exists in Equatorial Guinea and contribute to the establishment of the Plan of Action of the World Summit on the Information Society. To achieve this goal, there are plans to improve Internet access for the public and reach Internet use percentage-rates that are comparable with African countries with better statistics.
